Friday Happy Hour: Warren Platner Chairs

Mid-Century Modern is sprouting up everywhere, yet the originals are always the best.  I especially love the Warren Platner Chair.  Built in 1966 by Platner for Knoll, the chair is an “icon of modern furniture.  Platner personally formulated the production techniques for the complicated designs with each chair requiring over a thousand welds and more than one hundred cylindrical steel rods.”  Antique originals can occasionally be found in Dallas at Antiques Moderne, Collage Classics, Mid 2 Mod and Again & Again.   If you want something close to the original, check out Knoll and Design Within Reach for reproductions.    Here is some inspiration for its use:
