On the Job with C: Slim Aarons

I’ve been considering some photography for a client of mine.  She loves vintage photos and would to have love something that captures the past in a fun, colorful but sophisticated style.  I immediately thought of Slim Aarons, who best captured the upper class in the 1950s, 60s and 70s.  Said Aarons after developing a distaste for WWI as a photographer, I want to move on to photographing “attractive people who were doing attractive things in attractive places”.  Prints from original negatives can be purchase at here and 1st Dibs, but there are several great options on photos.com and even One Kings Lane.  Now to decide which one…maybe we shall start with one of his great books:  A Wonderful Time,  Once Upon a Time,  A Place in the Sun, Poolside with Slim Aarons and La Dolce Vita.
