Friday Happy Hour: Tobi Fairley

While the summer was over long ago, I could live with the soft blue colors that remind me of the season all year round.  Designer Tobi Fairley did an amazing job with this palette in an old At Home in Arkansas magazine I recently picked up.  It’s still a fresh and clean combination, perfect for a beach house or that year round room you want to relax in….

Friday Happy Hour: Michael S. Smith Penthouse

I’m slowly getting through my back issues of Architectural Digest, and despite some issues being over a year old, most of the designs are so timeless.  Take for example, Michael S. Smith and his Manhattan penthouse in NYC.  Magic.

Friday Happy Hour: Charleston Historic

There is something about southern architecture that captures my heart.  Leave it to Traditional Home to bring some of Charleston’s best to life in this month’s issue.  I just love this one built for socialite Cornelia “Daisy” Breaux Simonds.  “The flamboyant New Orleans beauty married Charleston bank president Andrew Simonds Jr. in 1885, and about 10 years later the couple built a magnificent home on South Battery with panoramic views of the harbor.”  It was recently redone and is just so lovely….

Friday Happy Hour: Miles Redd + Schumacher

Perhaps you heard the news by now that New York designer Miles Redd recently introduced a new fabric line at Schumacher.  The talented Redd, who is always known for his high gloss punch of colors, delivers a line that might rally Mary McDonald’s previous one.  Together he creatively mixes birds and peacocks with cubist geometric patterns and deconstructed stripes. And let’s not forget the soft watercolor…

Friday Happy Hour: Rancic’s Chicago Home

Who’s happy?  I’m guessing this couple is.  Bill and Giuliana Rancic just remodeled a 1880s brownstone in Chicago’s Gold Coast neighborhood.  Like my hubby and I, the couple once lived there part-time.  It’s absolutely beautiful what they did with the place.  Take a look….

Friday Happy Hour: Hampton Designer Showhouse

No one quite captures summer like the Hamptons.  And this years sun-filled Hampton Designer Showcase is a true hit.  Located at 233 Old Sage Harbor in Bridgehampton, New York, designers transformed a barn style house into a warm coastal style home.  Here is a peek of what some of the top designers have done…

Friday Happy Hour: Mrs. Howard’s Room by Room

I love design books.  They make for some great inspiration and let’s not forget how stunning they can look on a coffee table.  I have lots of favorites: Barbara Barry’s Around Beauty, Annie Kelley’s Rooms to Inspire, Aerin Lauder’s Beauty at Home and Jan Showers Glamorous Rooms and the list goes on.  What I’m really looking forward to Phoebe Howard‘s book, Mrs. Howard, Room by Room (available by pre-release by Amazon here or B&N here) that features her classic style.  Here’s a peek….

Friday Happy Hour: Santa Barbara

Happy Friday!  I’m enjoying time with my fab hubby in beautiful Santa Barbara.  We are enjoying great restaurants, amazing drives and some spectacular wine.  The houses here are quite stunning as well.  I was hoping to run into Rob Lowe and be invited to happy hour here
