Paint Ponder: Mocha Creme

This soft brown-gray might be the best neutral for those want the perfect sandy color. Benjamin Moore’s Mocha Creme works greats with chocolate brown (try incense stick 2115-20), soft blue (try beacon gray 2128-60) and even green.  Give it a roll as your next greige….

Paint Ponder: Wythe Blue

Benjamin Moore’s historical hue Wythe Blue HC-143, was their color of the year in 2012.  I still love it. It’s very Americana and as BM accurately captured, “It has universal appeal, never goes out of style, and is overwhelmingly chosen as a color favorite across North America.  It evokes the sea and sky, physically clams us, and symbolizes trust and commitment.”

Paint Ponder: Hazy Skies

“Paint everything one color — this elegant gray. It’s like a frothy latte. Not too dark, not too cold…just right,” reports Benjamin Dhong on Benjamin Moore Regal Classic Premium Hazy Skies OC-48.  “It will add a little architectural gravitas to even the saddest cabinetry. And if it feels too restrained, bring in lemony yellow, blue, and white.”  I’m loving it.

Paint Ponder: In the Midnight Hour

Designer Bruce Shostak grabbed our attention with his dramatic blue dining room in Benjamin Moore’s In the Midnight Hour BM- 1666.  He painted everything in this high-gloss blue stating in House Beautiful, “With a single color, you get sculptural richness.  In sunlight, the gloss finish is surpassingly cheerful, perfect for ball-filled birthday parties.  By night, it’s a handsome backdrop for grown-up dinners”.  We can’t agree more….

Paint Ponder: Naples Blue

“Blue has so much depth.  With red you can quickly get too orange or pink, but with blue you can turn the dial 45 times and it will still be blue, ” states designer Palmer Weiss love for this hue.  Recently she pushed Benjamin Moore 2057-30 Naples Blue to an absolutely stunning level in client family room captured by House Beautiful.  Here are a few others that took on the color…

Paint Ponder: Gray Owl

“Super class and sophisticated, but not boring AT ALL, ” state Emily Henderson of Gray Owl Benjamin Moore, OC-52.  “It’s a very, very warm gray – meaning that its still a cool tone because its gray, but has more yellow in it than blue so it doesn’t feel crazy blue.  Most of you who have experimented with gray’s know that they go blue very, very fast”.  Well said.  What do you think?

Paint Ponder: Blue Lace

“This cloudy shade of blue with gray undertones reminds me of the quietness of a rainy day, when you can just curl up in bed and relax,” reports designer Paul Corrie of Benjamin Moore’s 1625 Blue Lace. “It would turn any room into a refuge.  Combine it with more intense shades of gray and blue if you want more impact,  a salmon or a deep sage would also look stunning against it.”  What do you think?

Paint Ponder: Healing Aloe

Designer Alex Papschristidis was right on with his comments on Benjamin Moore’s Healing Aloe paint color for a bedroom in House Beautiful:  “I tend to like colors with a bit of gray in them. They’re more sophisticated. This can look blue or gray or green depending on the time of day. It’s got that Swedish thing — a tranquil, soft elegance. Beautiful with chalky-white wood and a bit of gilt. Red and aqua would also be divine.”

Paint Ponder: Kingsport Gray

Cozy is often a word that comes to mind when using Benjamin Moore’s HC-86 Kingsport Gray. It has a regal, equestrian twist that brings a traditional feel to a space.  It works great with BM accent colors 2162-40 Peanut Shell and 918 White Rock. Take a look….
