Friday Happy Hour: Miles Redd + Schumacher

Perhaps you heard the news by now that New York designer Miles Redd recently introduced a new fabric line at Schumacher.  The talented Redd, who is always known for his high gloss punch of colors, delivers a line that might rally Mary McDonald’s previous one.  Together he creatively mixes birds and peacocks with cubist geometric patterns and deconstructed stripes. And let’s not forget the soft watercolor…

Paint Ponder: Hague Blue

Miles Redd rocks it with this stunning door in Farrow & Ball’s Hague Blue.  It truly the most deep and wonderful blue I’ve ever seen.  It makes me want to jump on a flight to England and find the nearest pub.   So English and rich.  I love it.

Paint Ponder: Olive

Although I don’t like olives, unless they are in a martini – I do love this olive green.  Farrow & Ball No. 13 Olive.  Miles Redd used it beautifully in the mud room of this Greenwich, Connecticut home.  I like its earthy, historical look.  What do you think?

Paint Ponder: 2013 Color of the Year Emerald

Emerald is Pantone’s 2013 Color of the Year .  Described as “Lively, Radiant. Lush…A color of elegance and beauty that enhances our sense of well-being, balance and harmony”, color 17-5641 is making a big splash.  It’s been super fun to watch how designers, fabric and furniture showrooms have embraced the color.  It’s strong, jewel like and can really make a room.

Here are some of the results thus far:

I especially love the last photo of one of Miles Redd’s living room designs.  He’s one of my fav designers and always rocks it.
