Paint Ponder: Red, White and Blue

It’s Memorial Day weekend and everyone is thinking about red, white and blue.   The paint combination can be added in so many different ways.  Here are some ideas…

Paint Ponder: Carrington Beige

Benjamin Moore’s historical color HC-93, Carrington Beige, brings a sense calm just by looking at the swatch.  It doesn’t scream, it doesn’t demand. It’s elegant, warm and brings peace to the world.  If you are looking to add some restfulness to your home, this is it.  Take a look….

Paint Ponder: Clunch

“After we bought the place we were flying up from Florida to Atlanta, and as we came through the clouds I said, ‘This is what I want to wake up to every morning, a feeling of lightness and airiness, like we’re floating on a meringue.’ Polished woods and shots of gold — the gilt of a picture frame, the dull brass of a chandelier — warm the palette up and bring it to life.” , stated Phoebe Howard on her light and airy office painted in Farrow & Ball Clunch No. 2009.  I can’t agree more.  It might just be the perfect neutral.

On the Job with C: Paint going up

Greetings from Fairview.  Paint colors have just gone up in our new build.  Please forgive the poor photography on my iPhone. 😦 Somedays it’s just so cloudy and with everything covered in plastic it’s hard to get a good shot.  I promise to provide some professional ones once we move in.  We are still on track for the end of June.  Here’s a sneak peek at the progress….

Paint Ponder: Heritage Red

So you want to paint your front door and make a huge statement?  Stop here.  Benjamin Moore Heritage Red. Find it on the BM classic exterior room paint strip.  It’s the perfect intensity.  Try it with Sherwin Williams Snowbound Sw7004 as your white trim color.   Look at how these doors standout:

Paint Ponder: Stonington Gray

Another gray paint favorite of mine is Benjamin Moore’s Stonington Gray.  The HC-170 is warm color, with a hint of blue and pops with white trim. It’s part of their Historic Color collection which was “inspired by the documented colors found in 18th and 19th century architecture”. Here is some inspiration to give you a feel for it:

Paint Ponder: Hawthorne Yellow

It’s sunny out and what better color to ponder than yellow.  I especially love Hawthorne Yellow from Benjamin Moore.  The HC-4 historical color works great with gray (try 2127-40 Wolf Gray), thanks to its undertone.  It also works well with blue (consider 2121-60 White Diamond).  It would work perfectly for a guest bedroom – or perhaps even a front door.  Check it out.
